monsoon is beautifully

India’s monsoon season showed signs of recovery during the first week of July, bringing welcome relief to several parts of the country. After a weaker-than-expected June in some areas, rainfall activity picked up noticeably as weather systems became more active.
Recent rainfall estimates suggest that India received around 53.3 mm of rain between July 1 and July 6. This is reported to be about 11% higher than the usual average for this period. While short-term rainfall can vary widely from one region to another, the improvement has supported hopes of better soil moisture and water availability in many areas.
The increase in rain has been linked to active monsoon conditions, including the position of the monsoon trough and weather activity over the Bay of Bengal. Such systems often help draw moisture inland and can lead to widespread showers across central, eastern, western, and peninsular parts of India.
However, stronger monsoon activity also brings the need for caution. States such as Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and parts of eastern Madhya Pradesh may experience heavy rainfall in some districts. Low-lying areas could face waterlogging, and smaller rivers or streams may rise quickly during intense spells of rain.
Urban areas also need to stay alert. Cities like Mumbai can see traffic delays, local flooding, and slower public transport when showers intensify. Residents should follow official weather advisories and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of very heavy rain.
For farmers, the revival of rainfall may provide some support, especially in regions waiting for better moisture conditions. Still, rainfall distribution remains important. A national surplus over a few days does not always mean every district receives enough rain.
The coming days will be important for tracking whether the monsoon maintains its strength. Regular updates from official weather agencies can help people plan travel, farming activities, and safety precautions during this active phase of the season.
